COLCHESTER – Saturday, Dec. 14 was cold and windy but several dozen volunteers for Wreaths Across America still showed up to place remembrance wreaths on the graves of fallen veterans at Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery.
Wreaths Across America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to remembering fallen veterans, honoring those who serve and teaching the next generation the value of the armed services. Each year, it holds a wreath laying and remembrance ceremony to honor fallen veterans in cemeteries across the country.
This year, the group “Vermont Veteran Moms Remembering all VT Veterans” succeeded in getting enough wreaths from donors to cover each veteran’s grave in the state. The volunteers at Fort Ethan Allen were busy making sure each grave marked with an American flag was covered…
