BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – There could be some slick roadways this morning as last night’s snow pulls away and departs. The rest of our Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be partly sunny but very cold. Highs will be in the single digits and teens, but wind chills will be in the teens below zero, and even lower in the mountains. Lows Monday night will be below zero in a lot of spots with wind chills as low as the teens below zero comes daybreak Tuesday morning!
The cold snap will continue Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs will be in the single digits to mid-teens, and lows will be a few degrees above and below zero. A gentle breeze will keep the wind chills in the teens below zero at times, especially during the overnight hours. Remember to dress in layers if you venture outdoors, and it’s a good idea to keep a hat, gloves, and an extra blanket in your vehicle in case of an emergency. Again, this is hardly record-breaking cold, but it is some of the coldest air of the season thus far…
