Dearborn police find gun, body armor in recently paroled man’s car after he fled traffic stop, ran across I-94

DEARBORN (WWJ) — A recently paroled man is back behind bars after running from Dearborn police officers during a traffic stop on Tuesday.

It all started around noon on Sept. 24 when officers made a traffic stop in the area of Schaefer Road and Rotunda Drive, just north of I-94.

When officers learned the man had traffic warrants and went to take him out of the car to arrest him, the man took off running, Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin told WWJ Newsradio 950’s Luke Sloan.

Officers chased the man for “quite some time,” ultimately losing sight of him after he hopped a fence near railroad tracks, according to the chief…
