The Boston Police Department announced a significant development in the case of an armed robbery that occurred earlier this year in South Boston. Twaldo Baez, an 18-year-old resident of South Boston, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshal Task Force in Los Angeles on September 25, after detectives from the Boston Police Fugitive Unit tracked him down. According to the BPD report, Baez was wanted for Two Counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, specifically a firearm, for an incident that took place late one night in May.

The incident in question transpired shortly after midnight, on ,May 22 when Boston police officers from District A-1 were informed of a shooting on Joyce Hayes Way in South Boston, where two individuals had been shot and subsequently sought their own way to a nearby hospital. The victims, who sustained non-life threatening injuries, were able to receive prompt medical attention. The investigation into the shooting resulted in the identification of Baez as a suspect and the issuance of warrants for his arrest.
