On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court was set to hear oral arguments about the fate of TikTok , the social media video app that could be banned in the U.S. in just over a week.
President Joe Biden signed legislation requiring TikTok owner ByteDance to sell the app to a U.S.-based company by Jan. 19, 2025. If the Supreme Court upholds the law, 170 million American monthly users eventually will lose access.
