Volusia Pride is holding a DE&I book giveaway at Sidecar Home Market in Downtown DeLand this Saturday, 9/21 (tomorrow), from 10 AM to 4 PM. We will have several hundred books available to give away, many of them being banned books and/or books that contain diverse characters/themes.
In addition to the giveaway, we are expanding our offerings this year to create a miniature festival of sorts. There will be a children’s activity corner with coloring sheets and origami activities, as well as a series of banned book readings for toddlers (11 AM), children (Noon), and teens/young adults (1 PM & 2 PM). These readings will be performed by various local politicians, authors, and community members…
