WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Kindergarten vaccination rates continue to decline in Florida, and now sit at 88.1 percent, according to the latest CDC data. Nationwide, the rate is around 92-93 percent for the six mandated vaccines that protect against diseases like polio, measles, and hepatitis B.
“We haven’t seen a lot of these illnesses for years and now there is a very good chance that these viruses and bacteria will come back again and cause a problem,” said Dr. Chad Sanborn, a pediatrician at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital who specializes in infectious disease.
