STATEWIDE — A Downeast emergency response agency is pitching in to help those in devastated areas following Hurricane Helene’s destruction.

Downeast Emergency Medical Institute is a non-profit that, among other things, does search and rescue work across the country. And now they are pitching in with the relief efforts in multiple states following Hurricane Helene.

They are flying 5 or 6 of their aircraft into impact zones and delivering supplies. A DEEMI volunteer who lives in the Asheville area has been communicating with them and letting them what and where the needs are…
