First Day Hikes at Oregon’s state parks are back on New Year’s Day, including four in Central Oregon. The guided hikes at 30 parks are free and parking fees are waived that day.
Some parks require registration ahead of time. Here is the full list:

- Emigrant Springs State Park: Registration required
- Fogarty Creek State Recreation Area: Registration required, 10 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
- Milo McIver State Park: 10 a.m.

- Silver Falls State Park: 9 a.m.
- Silver Falls State Park: 11 a.m.
- Smith Rock State Park: Registration required
- Spring Valley Access: Registration required
