Portland apartments arsonist faces harsher sentence after ‘enhancement’ ruling

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – A Multnomah County judge issued a ruling Friday that could mean a harsher sentence for the man who burned down the May Apartments in southwest Portland last year.

Earlier this month, 32-year-old Garrett Repp was found guilty on 55 counts related to starting the fire.

On Friday in court, the judge ruled that many of those counts qualify for what is known as ‘enhancement facts,’ because the arson created a threat of serious injury to the people inside the building…
