WAPPINGERS FALLS – The New York State Conference of Mayors (NYCOM) has recognized Village Clerk John Karge for his decades of public service. Mayor Kevin Huber presented the NYCOM recognition at the start of the December 11 meeting of the village trustees.

Huber read the certificate which recognized Karge for “35 years and upwards of distinguished public service to the community.”

Karge is essentially the face of village hall and is the primary contact for most people conducting government business in the 1.2 square mile village with a population of just more than 6,000 residents…
