BIRMINGHAM, Ala. − Vanderbilt football’s Birmingham Bowl game against Georgia Tech entered a weather delay Friday for lightning shortly after 5:30 p.m. CT with 7:17 left in the fourth quarter and the Commodores ahead 35-13.
The game resumed at 6:27 p.m. after a delay of just under an hour.
According to the NCAA’s inclement weather policy, fans must evacuate the stands and the game cannot resume until 30 minutes after the most recent lighting strike within eight miles of Protective Stadium. A message on the video board stated that the game has not been canceled at this time…
