Lawmakers and patients examine the state of IVF in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — An in vitro fertilization (IVF) bill was passed by Alabama lawmakers earlier this year after the state supreme court ruled that frozen embryos are children with a right to life.

However, some say that the bill wasn’t enough to address the issue.

“I am a secondary infertility family,” IVF patient Anne Tyler Crider said. “And unfortunately, we have not been successful in our journey so far. But to be told we could not do IVF, I just can’t imagine the heartbreak that would bring.”…
