Anybody who has spent any amount of time in Park City has driven by the Park City Municipal Golf Course, White Pine’s Nordic Center and Hotel Park City on State Route 224. Nestled inside the hotel is Ruth’s Chris Steak House. With servers that know all the regulars and a menu full of flavor, this should be a regular stop when you’re in town.
The Backstory
Do you know how Ruth’s Chris got its name? In 1965 the original founder, Ruth Fertel, bought a small steakhouse in New Orleans, named Chris Steak House. A fire unfortunately destroyed the restaurant all the way to the sign outside. When Fertel found a new location, she couldn’t use the original establishments’ name. After a quick decision, she named the new location Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and the rest is history.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House Park City Menu
Of course, with “steak house” in its name, you can expect great steaks. But, they are not the only standouts item on the menu. If you’re looking for smaller bites, make sure to order the spicy shrimp. Think, bang bang shrimp but with an innovative twist, balanced out with a cucumber salad on the side.
Additionally, the lobster Mac and cheese is always a crowd favorite. It’s very rich, so make sure you have someone to share it with. This pairs well with the fire roasted corn, chop salad and petite filet.
Ruth’s Chris Steak House Park City People
Although a fun story and good food can be found many places, the staff at Ruth’s Chris Park City sets this spot apart. Rachel Mitchell, the head bartender and bar manager, is a perfect example of staff who make this location something special.
Mitchell has lived in Utah since 1998 and worked in bartending since 2020. Though her day-to-day mainly involves coming up with drink recipes and running the bar, she adds a personal touch by getting to know regular clients by name and bringing herbs in from her own garden. It’s touches like these that make the Park City location one-of-a-kind.
Next time you come in, make sure to order the rendezvous Rye Old Fashioned – Ruth’s Chris’ twist on an old fashioned. It uses Demerara simple syrup, Angostura bitters, orange bitters, Luxardo black cherries and a few squeezes of oranges and oils. Or, the Watermelon Blossom (photo above), which features Ketel One Vodka, watermelon, fresh mint and a special mix of sweetener and lemons…
