Higley special education students build skills through animal rescue

The Higley Transition & Access Program is a comprehensive, one-year program designed for qualified students in special education within the Higley Unified School District who are seeking to gain valuable skills for independent employment.

A key highlight of HTAP is its emphasis on volunteering at diverse job sites, offering students invaluable real-world exposure to various career settings.

Since the 2020-2021 school year, HTAP students have partnered with Aimee’s Farm Animal Sanctuary, an organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing farm animals in need while fostering a healing environment for differently abled individuals.
