Seton Catholic Preparatory High School celebrated its 70th anniversary of opening on Sept. 13, known as Seton Catholic Prep Day in the city of Chandler.
It was opened as a Parish school under the leadership of Father Joseph Patterson in 1954, serving the farming and migrant communities of Chandler at its original location near downtown, according to a news release.
The institution moved to its current location at Dobson and Ray roads in 1983 after a fire burned down the original facility. SCP has since grown its enrollment to about 550 students…
