FRAMINGHAM, Massachusetts — U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Boston have apprehended Dhennefer Ferreira Pires, a 31-year-old Brazilian fugitive, in Framingham. Pires fled Brazil to avoid serving a criminal sentence for theft and settled in Massachusetts.
“Ferreira fled his home country to evade justice and came to Massachusetts where he allegedly continues to inflict harm on others,” said acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde of ERO Boston. Pires entered the United States without authorization near Tecate, California, on September 9, 2021, where U.S. Border Patrol agents issued him a notice to appear before a Department of Justice immigration judge, according to the press release.
The Framingham District Court arraigned Pires on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on September 22, 2024, with charges still pending. ERO Boston officers have placed him in custody pending removal from the United States.
