A man facing charges in connection with an hourslong standoff in Boston was armed with a shotgun and rifle while he held three people hostage in a bathroom before surrendering to police, authorties announced Tuesday.
Andres Rivera, 42, of Boston, was arraigned Tuesday in West Roxbury District Court on charges of armed home invasion, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, eleven counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, two counts of malicious damage to a motor vehicle, three counts of armed kidnapping, and resisting arrest, according to the Boston Police Department.
