Racine man who allegedly assaulted two young boys faces 12 years in prison

RACINE, WI — A report of a man who allegedly physically assaulted two young boys playing at a local school led to a pair of felony charges against that 28-year-old defendant.

Jan Jeffery, Racine, is charged with two felony counts of physical abuse of a child intentionally causing bodily harm as a repeat-offender. Each of the charges carries a possible prison term of six years and a $10,000 fine.

Jeffery, who remains in custody in the Racine County Jail on a $500 cash bond and a $1,000 signature bond, also is charged with misdemeanor conduct as a repeat-offender. Jeffery is due back in Racine County Circuit Court on Oct. 30, for an 8:30 a.m. preliminary hearing.
