Harmony Grove residents fight housing development over fire safety concerns

HARMONY GROVE, Calif. — As Los Angeles wildfires dominate headlines, residents of Harmony Grove are raising urgent concerns about a proposed housing development they say could put lives at risk.

The controversial Harmony Grove Village South project, which would add 453 homes to an unincorporated area near Escondido, is facing renewed opposition over its single-exit design that would require a waiver of county fire safety codes.
