The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning residents throughout Southern and Central California, as well as Nevada regarding the severity of windstorms expected to impact the entire region on Tuesday January 7th.
The Las Vegas NWS office predicts that there is 95% chance that Bishop and the Owens Valley will see winds in excess of 30 mph, and a 20% chance that peak wind speeds could exceed 60 mph.
The “High Wind Warning” issued by the Las Vegas office details expected impacts from the storm:
“Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.”…
