Zayo Granted $153M for Middle Mile Initiative in Nevada

Global communications infrastructure provider Zayo Group, a DigitalBridge Group (NYSE: DBRG) portfolio company, has been selected by the state of Nevada to build, operate, maintain, and commercialize the state’s new Middle Mile Network project. Zayo broke ground this week in Reno, NV.

The project is partially funded through a high-speed internet grant as part of the Administration’s Internet for All Initiative. Zayo is the first Middle Mile Program grantee in the nation to begin construction, according to NTIA.

NTIA Administrator Alan Davidson said the groundbreakingmeans the people of Nevada are one step closer to more affordable, more reliable high-speed Internet service. This Middle Mile project will increase speeds for existing customers and lower the cost of deployment to unconnected homes.”
