Commanders use get-out-of-jail-free card with extremely lucky Week 15 escape

It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t perfect. But the result was all that mattered to the Washington Commanders in their quest for the postseason.

What’s that old saying, better to be lucky than good? That’s the best way to describe what transpired for the Commanders at the Caesars Superdome against the New Orleans Saints in Week 15.

They looked in complete control of proceedings in the first half. The Commanders didn’t put a foot wrong and held a 14-0 lead at the interval that could have been more. Things changed quickly after that.

Commanders were fortunate at the Saints, but a win is a win
