Dallas continues operation of temporary inclement weather shelter

DALLAS, Texas — The Office of Homeless Solutions is maintaining the Temporary Inclement Weather Shelter as cold conditions persist in the city. The shelter will remain open until overnight temperatures no longer meet the criteria outlined in the City Code.

An OHS-activated Temporary Weather event is triggered when temperatures fall below 36 degrees in wet weather or 32 degrees in dry weather for three hours or more between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m., according to a press release from the Office of Homeless Solutions. If the trigger is not met for one day between multiple days that do meet the trigger, the shelter will remain open per the Inclement Weather Shelter Standard Operating Procedure.

The Temporary Inclement Weather Shelter sites include Fair Park Grand Place at 3701 Grand Ave., Austin Street II at 2929 Hickory St., and Fair Park Tower Building at 3809 Grand Ave., all located in Dallas, Texas. Intake hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m…
