Kentucky seems to be stuck as far as rankings go, generally. They’ve been at No. 16 in the AP Poll for four consecutive weeks now, and for a while, the Cats remained as a 6-seed in the ESPN Bracketology . However, Kentucky actually slipped in the latest Bracketology release.
The Cats slipped one seed line, making them a 7-seed in the latest ESPN Bracketology.
Kentucky comes in as the 7-seed in the Birmingham region. Notre Dame (1), UConn (2), Ohio State (3), Vanderbilt (4), NC State (5) and Alabama (6) are above Kenny Brooks ‘ team. Baylor, Ole Miss and Utah are the other 7-seeds in the projected field.
It seems odd that Vanderbilt — a one-loss team like Kentucky — is three whole seed lines ahead. That’s understandable for someone like South Carolina or Texas — a traditional power in the sport — but it just seems odd with the Commodores. But perhaps Charlie Creme knows something that we don’t…
