Alejandro Fernández to stop by San Antonio as part of his ‘De Rey a Rey’ Tour

SAN ANTONIO — The songs of Vicente Fernández, the legendary regional Mexican singer who died in 2021, will once again fill arenas next year, courtesy of his son.

Alejandro Fernández, himself a Grammy winner who has carved his own path through traditional Mexican genres and later pop, is coming to San Antonio in May as part of his 26-city “De Rey a Rey” Tour. Its name translating to “From King to King,” the tour is being billed as Fernández paying tribute to his father, Mexico and the “classic songs that are the soundtrack of Latino life.”

The tour kicks off May 10 in Seattle and comes to San Antonio’s Frost Bank Center on May 31, with Houston and Austin also set to host Fernández. He last performed at the venue in September 2023…
