The Fresno State Bulldogs hosted the New Mexico Lobos on New Year’s Eve but suffered a loss that felt similar to its last two in conference play. The ‘Dogs fell behind early, battled back end eventually fell 103-89.
The visiting Lobos jumped out to a 22-8 lead in the first nine minutes alone. New Mexico shot 68 percent from the field in the first half and made 6-of-9 3-pointers before halftime – using a final 7-0 run to take a lopsided 53-36 lead at the break. The Bulldogs cut UNM’s 19-point lead to 11 late in the second half but immediately surrendered an 8-0 run.
