Drone pilot captures dredging efforts at Honeymoon Island after hurricanes

DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) — A popular Florida state park is on its way to recovery after taking a serious hit from Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Sky Drones Pilot John Yanchoris captured the ongoing dredging efforts at Honeymoon Island, located off the coast of Pinellas County, on Sunday, Jan. 12.

Red tide found near Skyway Beach

According to Yanchoris, the island, which welcomes over a million visitors each year, suffered flooding and major damage to structures during the back-to-back hurricanes.
