The Kyle Monangai Rushing Title Watch: Week Four

Rutgers is sitting at 3-0 on the season and has one of the more prominent rushing attacks in the Big Ten. That charge has been led by Kyle Monangai who is off to the races in the chase for the NCAA rushing crown.

Monangai compiled 84 yards on 26 carries in a 26-23 Saturday win over Virginia Tech. That gives him a total of 457 rushing yards, which ranks fifth in the nation. However, Monangai has only played in three games while the three players ahead of him are four games into the season. Kaleb Johnson of Iowa leads the nation with 685 rushing yards through four games.

Monangai is third in the nation in rushing yards per game behind only Johnson and Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty who is averaging 195.3 yards in just three games…
