Leatrice Fredrickson, age 96, of Zumbrota and formerly of Cannon Falls, and Red Wing, died Monday at the Zumbrota Care Center.
Leatrice Joy Fredrickson was born on December 11, 1927, in Leon Township, the daughter of Elmer and Grace (Johnson) Anderson. She attended country school through the 8th grade, and then Cannon Falls High School. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to Gordon Fredrickson at Spring Garden Lutheran Church. Leatrice worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the Cannon Falls Community Hospital, and then as a Sales Associate at Picadilly Boutique in Cannon Falls, until her retirement. She and Gordon farmed until moving into the home he built in Woodland Heights, near Cannon Falls, in 1968.They moved to Red Wing in 1998.
Leatrice was a member of First Lutheran Church in Red Wing, and a former member of St. Ansgar’s Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls. She was active as a Sunday School teacher at St. Ansgar’s. She enjoyed baking, and going to Big Birch Lake near Hackensack for many years. She was a 4H Leader, a member of a homemaker’s club, and a member of the American Legion Post #64 Auxiliary…
