CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — “I wish I had a couple thousand dollars instead of just $100 to spend. I would have liked to have done more. I can’t believe the pictures I’ve seen,” said Bob Toombs as he dropped off supplies to the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Seeing videos and pictures of the destruction in Western North Carolina has tugged at the heartstrings of many. Those who can only give a little realize on days like these, every little bit helps.
NASCAR teams and the Charlotte Motor Speedway coordinated to collect bottled water, canned or non-perishable food, baby wipes and diapers to help those left with next to nothing.
