A man is dead after a late night crash in Davenport yesterday, according to a news release from the Davenport Police Department.
Davenport Police, Fire and Medic EMS responded to the area of East River Drive and Forest Road regarding a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, December 17 at about 11:12 p.m. The preliminary investigation shows an eastbound Kia Soul lost control, crossed the center line and was struck by a westbound Chevrolet Trailblazer. The driver and only occupant of the Kia, a 30 year old man, was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Trailblazer was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identities of both drivers are not being released at this time, pending family notifications. The incident remains under investigation by the Davenport Police Department Traffic Safety Unit and no further information is currently available…
