St. Anthony’s Nursing Home fined $75,000 for violations

A Rock Island nursing home has been cited for violations of the Nursing Home Care Act .

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has posted the 2024 Second Quarterly Report of Nursing Home Violations.  Five facilities were cited with type “AA” violations, the most severe type, of the Nursing Home Care Act in the second quarter of 2024. An “AA” violation is cited when there is a condition or occurrence at a facility that proximately caused a resident’s death.

St. Anthony’s Nursing & Rehab Center in Rock Island was fined $75,000 for issues that led to the death of a patient who was in the facility after suffering a stroke. The report issued by IDPH says the facility had two deficient practice statements. It says the center failed to have adequate qualified staff to conduct basic life support/cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/CPR) for one resident out of nine reviewed for CPR…
