Byron Tigers come up inches short and drop 3A playoff game to Lombard Montini

LOMBARD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Byron Tigers have been involved in a lot of down-to-the-wire football games in the playoffs in recent seasons. They had another one Saturday in their big rematch with the Montini Broncos in the IHSA 3A Playoffs.

The defenses dominated most of this game. The first big defense play was on Montini’s opening possession. Broncos’ sophomore quarterback Israel Abrams fired a deep pass toward the Byron end zone, but it was intercepted by sophomore safety Andrew Talbert.

Byron’s defense added another pick in the second quarter when linebacker Caden Considine leaped to get his hand on an Abrams’ pass over the middle. The ball ricocheted off his hand and it was caught by defensive back Brayden Knoll…
