ROCKFORD — Residents in northern Illinois can recycle their Christmas trees by dropping them off at one of 12 Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful (KNIB) tree recycling locations starting on Jan. 1.
The trees will be ground up into mulch and residents then can help themselves to the mulch for use in gardens and for landscape purposes while supplies last.
