Vacant manufacturing building in Rockford demolished after fire

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – $250,000: That’s the estimated damages from a fire at a large vacant manufacturing facility in Rockford Saturday evening.

The Rockford Fire Department responded just before 5:45 p.m. to the 2600 block of Marshall St. off of Harrison Ave. for a structure fire. The first responders on scene saw heavy fire throughout the building. It took 32 total firefighters roughly six hours with multiple hoses to get the fire under control.

The building was demolished with the help of a Loves Park contractor…
