AVA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Sunday morning accident in the town of Ava has left one person dead, according to New York State Police.
Troopers were called to State Route 26 in the town of Ava at just before 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 17. Further investigation found that the driver — 73-year-old Betty Backer from West Leyden — was driving southbound on State Route 26 when it crossed the double-yellow line.
