Diaper Need Awareness Week: Metro Atlanta nonprofit calling on community to help fill diaper gap

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – September 23 to 29 is Diaper Need Awareness Week and a metro Atlanta baby supply bank is on a mission to ensure that no baby goes without clean diapers.

For ten years, Helping Mamas has been a beacon of hope for parents across Georgia, distributing millions of essential items. But demand is growing, with nearly half of American families facing diaper needs.

“A lot of families don’t have those resources and I think we forget sometimes is that not everyone has the same support systems in place, the same economic opportunities in place,” said Jamie Lackey, CEO and founder of Helping Mamas. “They didn’t have baby showers, they didn’t have those things and so what we try to do is be that for these families to make sure it’s something they’re not losing sleep over at night.”…
