ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — “The Fed sees this, and they are trying to stimulate the economy with these lower rates to get the engine of the economy cranking again,” UNM economist Reilly White said.

He is talking about the Federal Reserve deciding to lower interest rates by 0.5%. It could be the start of seeing something many haven’t experienced in years. Lower interest rates for credit card debt and also more opportunity in the housing market.

“What that could potentially do is free up more house for inventory,” White said. “Sellers who feel trapped in their homes may feel more comfortable offering their homes for sale.”…
