On Tuesday, The Artesia Bulldogs girls’ soccer team beat the Roswell High Lady Coyotes 2-1 at the Cielo Grande Sports Complex.
The Bulldogs (7-3-2) were coming off a 2-1 loss against Ruidoso on Saturday. The Lady Coyotes (7-6) were coming off a dismantling of Alamogordo; the score was 8-0 on Sept. 19. This game is the first and only time both teams would face each other.
This game was physical and tight from the start of the first half. Both teams switched which side the ball would be on, but the challenging play by both defenses held the score at 0-0 for most of the half.
