Colorful costumes and live music to highlight downtown Austin’s Viva la Vida parade

AUSTIN, Texas — The Mexic-Arte Museum has announced the return of its annual Viva la Vida Festival and Parade, which will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 12 to 6 p.m.

Held in downtown Austin, this celebration is the city’s largest and longest-running Day of the Dead event. It honors the rich traditions of the multi-day holiday while inviting the community to participate.

The parade, set for 12-1 p.m., will begin on Sixth Street between the I-35 Southbound Frontage Road and Red River Street.
