Cool weekend, near-record warmth next week in Metro Detroit

A hot game between in-state rivals Michigan and Michigan State will not be enough to keep you warm Saturday night.

A hat, jacket, and maybe gloves will come in handy at the Big House in Ann Arbor. Temperatures will be in the 40s for much of the game. By 11 p.m., temperatures in Ann Arbor will slip into the upper 30s. Ann Arbor’s nighttime low will be around 30 degrees.

Saturday night will be mostly clear and cold across Southeast Michigan. In addition to Ann Arbor, it will be around 30 degrees in Howell, Fenton, and Lapeer. Temperatures will drop to 32 degrees, or the freezing point, in Auburn Hills, Macomb Township, Ypsilanti, Monroe, and neighboring communities. It will likely stay above freezing in Detroit, Grosse Ile, St. Clair Shores, and Windsor.
