Michigan woman drowns trying to save dog from thin ice

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman from eastern Michigan died after trying to rescue a dog that had broken through thin ice on a pond, NewsNation affiliate WOOD reported.

The Lapeer County Sheriff’s Office was called out to a home in Goodland Township, about 40 miles east of Flint, Michigan, Wednesday afternoon.
