I remember the first time I went to Kalahari and saw people swimming in one of the pools with drinks in their hands. I thought this was one of the coolest things I had ever seen because who wouldn’t want a nice drink after all the exhausting effort of swimming. Obviously at the time I wasn’t smart enough to realize this was a swim up bar and it would be quite some time before I had the same privileges.
Now that I am above the legal drinking age, I can admit that I have been to a swim up bar and it’s just as great of an experience as I thought it would be. Obviously, these aren’t a common occurrence, but you can see them at a lot of nicer and high-end hotels, indoor and outdoor waterparks, and even at vacation resorts.
