Parson commutes sentence of man still in prison for 1988 armed robbery

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Gov. Mike Parson on Friday commuted the sentence of Paige Spears, a man who has been in prison since a 1988 robbery.

Many supporters have advocated for Spears’ release, including a group who rallied outside the St. Louis County Jail earlier this year and a group of retired St. Louis police officers who run a popular policing podcast.
