St. Louis jury convicts man in fatal shooting of new mom

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A St. Louis jury has convicted a man in a fatal 2020 shooting.

Eric Jordan Williams, 21, was found guilty of second-degree murder, armed criminal action, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon in the shooting death of Joyce Freeman, 20.

Freeman was shot and killed in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue on Nov. 23, 2020. According to investigators, Freeman was getting ready to go to a doctor’s appointment with her 4-day-old son and her boyfriend when a Nissan Sentra drove by, and someone fired shots at their car. Freeman was in the driver’s seat while her boyfriend was putting the baby in an infant seat in the back…
