Pacific Grove police arrest suspect in hit-and-run involving juvenile

PACIFIC GROVE, California – A 36-year-old Marina resident was arrested following a hit-and-run incident involving a juvenile pedestrian, according to the Pacific Grove Police Department.On January 25, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Lighthouse Avenue and Alder Street. A blue Prius, driven by the suspect, struck a 14-year-old running southbound on Alder Street and fled the scene towards Monterey. The juvenile received on-site medical attention and was later taken to the hospital by his parents.The following day, a good Samaritan spotted the suspect’s vehicle in Pacific Grove and reported the license plate to authorities. Using the FLOCK camera system, officers confirmed the vehicle’s presence at the scene of the accident. This led to the identification and arrest of Icaro Fernandes, age 36, of Marina, California, who was booked into Monterey County Jail for felony hit and run.The Pacific Grove Police Department credited…..
