The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts widespread precipitation from Friday evening into Saturday morning, bringing colder temperatures and hazardous driving conditions to Salt Lake City and surrounding regions.

According to the NWS, the storm is expected to bring rain in the afternoon, transitioning to snow by Friday night as temperatures drop. Snow levels will start around 5,000–5,500 feet but are predicted to lower by evening, allowing snow to reach valley floors. Residents and drivers along Interstate 80 and other main routes should expect slick, slushy conditions that could impact travel, particularly in the higher elevations, including the Upper Cottonwoods area, where snowfall may be heavier.
