Utah Winter Storm Warning: Heavy Snow in Salt Lake City Until 6 PM Tuesday

Salt Lake City, UT – A winter storm continues to impact Utah, bringing heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions across Salt Lake Valley and the Wasatch Mountains. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning, which remains in effect until 6 p.m. MDT Tuesday for Salt Lake Valley and until 6 a.m. Wednesday for the Wasatch Mountains.

According to the National Weather Service, Salt Lake Valley can expect an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow on the valley floors, with 3 to 6 inches accumulating on the benches. The Wasatch Mountains south of I-80, including Alta and Brighton, could receive between 10 and 20 inches of additional snowfall, with the heaviest accumulation expected in the upper Cottonwoods.

Travelers should expect winter driving conditions, with possible traction laws in place for mountainous areas. The storm could also affect the Tuesday evening commute, with additional lake-effect snow possibly extending snowfall into Wednesday morning…
