The Mojave River League champion Burroughs volleyball team qualified for the CIF-Southern Section Division 2 playoff. On Saturday, the Burros learned their path to try to reach the CIF-SS Division 2 Championship match and it begins on Wednesday at Murrieta Valley High at 5 p.m. The Burros will face the CIF-SS Division 2 No. 2 ranked Nighthawks.
The Nighthawks finished the season with a 24-7 overall record and in the Southwestern League had a 9-1 record for second place. Murrieta Valley was given the No. 2 overall rank in Division 2 behind Saugus. The Nighthawks’ only losses come from three out-of-state teams – one from Texas and two from Hawaii – and Palos Verdes of Division 2, and Huntington Beach of Division 1 in tournament play.
